Swiss-Family Stoorist-son

14 May

The Stoodlerist and the Scourist spent a couple of days in Switzerland themselves last summer, but didn’t manage to explore the Alps like the Stoorist did. There is a lot to be said about Switzerland – and you can say it in any of its four official languages: French, German, Italian and Romansh.

Switzerland is landlocked, but the lack of a coastline is made up with endless beautiful lakes. Rubiah is considering hiking up those mountains..

This looks like it was taken in front of a picture, but that’s the real deal, yo! Picture perfect comes to mind..

Switzerland isn’t under snow all the time – although up in the Alps you could expect a fair amount way beyond January. Did you know that Switzerland – known for among other things, being neutral – is made up of 26 once-warring cantons – or states. (I didn’t – just found out ever so recently!)

Rubiah was having dinner here – in the footsteps of James Bond! This is the Schilthorn – elevation : 10,000 feet – where On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was shot. The Stoorist tells us that Rubiah was looking to see if James Bond was among the diners, but alas… no such luck! Or maybe there’s something Rubiah’s not telling…

Next: we follow Rubiah as she travels via the Scourist’s favourite mode of transport (clue: it doesn’t involve airports!) to Italy!
